Use initials or a nickname. Each profile has its own four tools. The PIN applies to this browser.
Choose a small starting set, then reveal more words. Hidden spaces keep the other words in place. Changing page size changes page boundaries.
Tap “Speak” to read the whole sentence. Tap a word in the sentence to remove it. Undo removes the last word.
On iPad, turn off Silent Mode and check the volume. If you still hear nothing, check Bluetooth headphones or speakers.

Editing locks after two minutes without activity, when you leave this tab, or when you select Lock now. The PIN discourages unwanted changes; it does not protect against clearing browser data or device access.
The supporting adult is responsible for exporting and safely keeping backups. Clearing browser data, private browsing or losing this device can remove all custom words, photos and the PIN. We cannot recover them. No email address is collected and there is no cloud backup.
A profile backup includes all four tools, words, photos and settings. Restoring a profile adds it as a new profile. Restoring all profiles replaces this toolkit’s profiles after confirmation. Legacy My Words backups add a new profile. Keep backups private if they contain personal photos. No PINs or recovery codes are included in backups.
Restore the starter My Words tiles and voice settings for the active profile. Other apps and profiles are unchanged. Export first if you want to keep your personalised boards.
Original My Words drawings. Search here, then choose a symbol when editing a tile.
Choose which words appear. Hidden tiles leave a blank space so familiar words stay in place. Quick messages remain available.
These buttons apply to this board only. You can tick any combination below.
Choose a starting point, add the word you use, then take a photo or choose an original drawing.
Supported trial build with four tools and 513 original symbols. No accounts or automatic syncing between devices. Check that symbols are meaningful to the pupil. Speech depends on the device and installed voices. Export a backup before clearing browser data.
The name above the apps tells you which profile is active. Use initials or a nickname. Each profile has separate My Words tiles, a timetable, a First–Then–Reward board and emotion/support choices. Moving between apps keeps the same profile. The Profiles button requires the adult PIN; switching profiles locks editing again.
Set a 4–8 digit PIN and privately save the recovery code. This one PIN protects all profiles in this browser. It discourages unwanted editing; it does not encrypt the data or prevent someone clearing browser storage. Lock now, Done editing, leaving the tab, or two minutes without interaction relocks controls. Communication stays available.
Tap pictures to build a sentence, then Speak. Undo removes the last word; Stop speaking interrupts the voice. Edit board changes words, symbols or photos. Choose vocabulary hides words without shifting other tiles. Deleting leaves a blank space. Undo last deleted tile restores the last deletion until you reload, switch profiles, reset or restore.
Choose Add the first activity or Add an activity. Enter its name, tap a picture or choose a photo, then Save activity. Use Save and add another to build the sequence quickly. Change this timetable lets you edit or reorder existing activities. Create a new timetable replaces the current one only when you save its first activity. Choose Whole day or Now and Next. The pupil can tap an activity to hear it and use Finished this activity to move forward. An adult can start the day again. Progress is saved for that profile.
Agree a small, achievable activity and an appropriate choice with the pupil. Use Choose first activity, Choose then activity and Choose reward to pick from the picture list. Use Add your own for personal words or photos. An adult advances or restarts the sequence; tapping cards speaks them. Communication, water, food, toilet access and needed regulation breaks must remain available independently of the reward.
The pupil chooses how they feel and what might help. These are choices to support a conversation, not an assessment or behaviour score. Use Choose feelings and Choose support options to select what appears for this pupil, then Save choices. Personalise words or photos allows individual choices. The pupil can optionally choose a little, quite or very, and use Speak my message to say their choices together. Current selections are not saved as an emotion history. There is no right feeling to select.
Save this profile downloads its four tools and photos. Save all profiles includes every profile on this device. Check the JSON file is safely in Files or Downloads, then confirm the download. Keep backups private. The PIN and recovery code are never exported.
On another device, set up adult controls and restore the JSON file. A single-profile or legacy My Words backup is added as a new profile, so it does not overwrite another pupil. An all-profile backup replaces all profiles after a warning. Save all current profiles first. The destination device keeps its own PIN. There is no automatic syncing.
Forgotten PIN accepts your saved recovery code and lets you choose a new PIN without removing profiles. Save the replacement recovery code. If both are lost, there is no in-app unlock. Clearing browser data also removes profiles; retain a backup. Reset My Words affects only that app in the active profile. Deleting a profile removes all four of its tools; the last deletion can be undone during the current session.
When uploaded at the same website address, the existing saved board becomes “My first profile”. Your adult PIN is reused. The original My Words save is kept untouched as a migration fallback. If you move to another domain or browser, save and restore a backup instead.
Open online and wait for Offline page ready, then test reopening in flight mode. Some voices need internet; check separately. Browser storage can be removed by the device or by clearing data. On iPad, Safari’s Share menu can add the site to the Home Screen; if it opens separate data, restore a profile backup there. Open the toolkit in one tab at a time to avoid conflicting changes.
The supporting adult is responsible for appropriate setup and regular backups. No email or pupil account is needed; data stays in this browser and exported files. This build is for supported trials. School payment and licence activation are not connected yet.
Choose, create or manage the profiles saved in this browser.
Use initials or a nickname. Profiles do not sync between devices. Switching locks adult controls and opens the toolkit home page.
Leave unticked to begin with starter words and example activities.
Choose the options this pupil will see. Keep the list manageable. Select between 1 and 16.
Tap a choice to add it to the plan. Changing a choice starts the sequence again.
Make the words and pictures familiar. All changes apply only to the active profile.
Matching pictures appear below as you type. Tap a picture to select it, then choose Save activity.
JPEG, PNG or WebP, up to 10 MB. Photos stay in this browser and in your downloaded backups.
Choose familiar words together, try the voice and keep the PIN and recovery code away from the person using the board where appropriate.
Write down this recovery code and keep it privately, away from this device. It resets your PIN without removing your boards. No email recovery is available.
If both your PIN and this code are lost, there is no in-app unlock. Keep an exported board backup; clearing browser data removes the boards as well as the lock.
